Brinks is here! We picked him up from the pound yesterday. He is very sweet and well behaved.
Animal Control found him tied up in an abandoned building a week ago- but I think he came from a breeder and was somebodies pet at some point.
He knows sit, give paw, and walks on a leash very nicely.
Comparing him to our previous rottie (pictured in the upper left hand corner of your screen)- he sometimes looks exactly like her. Some of his expressions are just identical. And since it has been over a year since she passed- looking at him and almost thinking it's her is not making me sad- it makes me happy that she is still so strong in my memory and heart.
Tomorrow he gets microchiped and neutered. He was given all his shots yesterday at Animal Control.
I recommend Animal Control as a place to look for a new pet. There were lots of purebreds there and they are all on a short time limit.

But you know, he can qualify as an armored truck if he wants. I don't care how cute he looks in the pictures, I still wouldn't want to mess with him.
But yeah, congrats on your new family member!

Our town has a police run animal control unit - that's where we got our Sweet Black Toffee, the doxie that just passed this summer. YEAH for pound dogs and their rescuers!
Here's to a brighter future Brinks!
LOVE the red cabinet!!

If/when I want another pet (I have always had dogs, the last one died 2+ years ago) I think a shelter would be the way to go.
However, I have never had and have no interest in ever having a purebred dog.

Jed reminds us of Trinity's (df's dads dog) father. Trinity is so tiny and delicate, but her dad Banjo was a massive Jack Russell who you could only describe as a 'boofer'. He was big and bouncy and a little unco-ordinated, thought he was a lap dog and loved cuddles and licking peoples faces, which is exactly what Jed is like.
It was very sad when Banjo died as the owner also had another Jack Russell called Milly, they had always been inseparable and you could porbably say they were 'mates for life'. The day after Banjo died, the owner came over to our house with Milly, and the poor thing just looked so lost, she was so shy and just kept to her owners feet.
