I grew up on the Cosby show. I have fond memories of watching the show as a family with my mom and dad. We all laughed. There was something for everyone.
I watch the show now occasionally if I have time and there is nothing else on. Lately there has been nothing else on.
Well, come to find out BB doesnt like the Cosby Show! We are together 9 years and I discover this now! How can you not like the show?? He thinks the show is stupid and is still burned out on Bill Cosby from all those jello commercials from like- 15 years ago.
I just made BB turn off football and watch 1 episode with me (it was a good one) to give it a try. He laughed. I think it was less painful than he thought it would be. Not a fan, but I'm working on him!
How can anybody DISLIKE the Cosby Show??

That being said, sometimes Bill Cosby does kind of get on my nerves. I grew up on The Cosby Show too, but watching it as an adult, I sometimes get a little irritated with how much Bill Cosby seemed to have drunk his own Kool-Aid, if you know what I mean. And don't even get me started on Olivia...
The episodes that are more family-based are still a lot of fun, though. I want to be Clair Huxtable when I grow up!

I grew up on the Cosby Show, and then of course the spin-off when Denise (I think) went off to college.

I really, really liked THE COSBY SHOW, but, I have to say that I LOVED A Different World. (the spin-off when Denise went to college, albeit for one year lol)
C'mon nothing beat(s) Dwayne Wayne and Ms. Thing, aka Whitley. :-)

My second favorite is the For Men Only episode. I loved the part at the community center with the guy who could sing and I loved the grandpa getting hooked on the video game.
They really did do some great stuff...

Rudy was cute, but Olivia was annoying.

My choice is easily MASH.

Hands down for me that would be Everybody Loves Raymond. Can't stand it--sets my teeth on edge! I never understood what people liked so much about it.
choystercash:
Are you talking about the one who played Rudy? That might be possible. I don't think Raven Simone (the one who played Olivia) had a baby, but maybe I'm not as up on my celebrity gossip as I could be, lol!

Superpopular shows I actually tried to watch and couldn't stand: Everybody Loves Raymond, Ally McBeal, Northern Exposure, the original 90210 (although I had a love-hate relationship with 90210 and still watched it quite a bit to laugh at the stupid characters and cringe at the lame plot developments).

Sorry, merch & whitestripe, I never liked Star Wars. I know, shame on me.
I'm with ceejay on Ally McBeal - couldn't stand it. But I just LOVE Everybody Loves Raymond, so I guess I'm going against the grain there too!
These aren't sitcoms, but the more current popular ones that I don't like and won't watch are all the Survivor, Lost, Fear Factor, Amazing Race, etc, etc. They bore me to tears, but I know they are wildly popular.

We enjoyed watching Fear Factor with the girls, but did not even know it was still on. Never watched Survivor or Amazing race.
My current Favs: Lost, Fringe, Biggest Loser, Big Love, Friday Night Lights, Intervention, 24, and the only sitcom we watch is The Office which was not that funny this week, am I outgrowing it? Looking forward to the Closer. Used to watch House, but third season the grouchy doctor got old. Waiting for Dexter 3rd season to come out on DVD so I can rent it.
